Individual entries for Ironman 2013 in Haugesund are sold out, but you can still sign up a relay team for the big event. Choose your leg and remember to sign up both on Advantage Events and Ironman’s own sign up page.
Professional triathlete, Mary Beth Ellis, expressed high praise for Scandinavia’s first ever Ironman event in 2012, saying: “I do a lot of races…a lot. It is rare that I go to a race and have my expectations not just exceeded but blown out of the water.”

However, in 2013 it isn’t just the professionals who will be taking part, as athletes can choose to complete the entire triathlon as an individual or sign up as part of a relay team. So, whether you can swim, ride, run, or do all three, there is an option for you.
Individual Ironman race (sold out)
An Ironman 70.3 is “only” a half-distance Ironman event. The 70.3 refers to the total distance in miles (113.0 km) covered in the race, consisting of:
- 1.9 km swim
- 90 km bike ride
- 21.1 km run
Relay Ironman race
Relay teams can consist of two to three people in the following groups and can be male, female, or co-ed;
- one person can complete two legs of the triathlon if they wish (please mention this in comments on sign up, as we will need to adjust points accordingly)
- The distance of each leg is the same as in the individual race.
It is possible to use Advantage points to sign up as an Omega-only team or as a member of a team made up of Omega employees and others.
Relay teams race alongside the individual athletes, so it is not possible to sign up for both a relay and an individual race.
The teambuilding
Advantage offers a teambuilding including the participation fee and “pasta party” after the event.
Sign up
Participants must sign up via both Advantage Events and the event’s official registration where you have to pay the registration fee . Following this, you can send your receipt to Omega and we will refund your part of the registration fee and charge this instead to your Advantage account.
We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible as places are limited to 1000 athletes and sign up is well underway.
