Outings and activities
On Saturday we will enjoy various group activities in the Lisbon area.
We also have the chance to visit some of Lisbon's most famous sights:
The San Jorge Castle
With a grand view of Lisbon's old city and the river Tagus, the medieval castle San Jorge rests on one of the city's mountain tops. San Jorge can be seen from almost all of Lison and is one of the city's most famous attractions.
We will walk and travel by tram up to the castle.
Visit to Sintra city
The mountain village of Sintra is one of "pearls" of Lisbon's city mountains. Sintra is a green oasis in the city's mountains and offers a slightly lower temperature than Lisbon's city center. We will get to tour the village, visit the city park and get to see the Sintra summer palace - the summer residence for the royal family during the 18th and 19th century. After the tour, we will have some time to look around the city at our own pace.
Sintra is located approximately 25 minutes from our hotel.
Visit to Belèm
Much of Lisbon`s powerful history is evident in the Belem area. It was from Belem that many of Portugal's famous explorers embarked on their voyages of discovery. The historical Belem district is decorated with monuments and architectural attractions such as the Jeronimo Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.
