Midnight Sun Marathon 2011

A sporty Omega delegation joined in on one of the year`s most unique work outs. The Midnight Sun Marathon 25 June.

Following successful teambuilding trips to the marathon in 2005, 2006 and 2008, it was high time we gave our new team members the chance to experience this unique sporting event.

Participants do not have to run the marathon, but you can enjoy the midnight sun running (or walking) shorter distances, including the 4.2 km fun run.

The experience

More than 80 Omega team members have participated in our Midnight Sun Marathon teambuildings earlier, and in June we are once again lining up at the starting line - in the middle of the night…in sunlight.

At 70º latitude, the Midnight Sun Marathon in the Arctic city of Tromsø is the northernmost AIMS certified marathon in the world. From May to the middle of July the sun does not set and you can experience daylight 24 hours a day!

Tromsø

Whether you decide to go all the way or “just” want to challenge yourself to the 10km run, there is an option to suit everyone.

• Marathon – 42.195 km
• Toro Half Marathon – 21.0975 km
• 10km race
• 4.2km fun run

The teambuilding

The Omega Midnight Sun Marathon teambuilding will run from Friday 24 June to Sunday 26 June.

• Dinner Friday and Saturday
• Accommodation Friday and Saturday nights at Thon Hotel Tromsø

Flights

Advantage points can be used for flights to and from the event in Norway as long as you have a positive balance in your Advantage Account. Flights from outside of Norway must be approved by the Omega Service Centre, based on your available Advantage Points.

We ask that you book and pay for your flight and send the Omega Service Centre the receipt for the flight after the event, at which time we will refund your flight costs and instead deduct the corresponding Advantage Point cost from your Advantage account.
