Definition of Completion Management

“A guarantee that the project fulfills all functional requirements within given time, cost and quality requirements, planned and verified through a structured process that is managed by management from planning to takeover.”
— BA2015 Veileder – Systematisk Ferdigstillelse

This definition forms the foundation for how Completion Management is applied within Omega 365. Completion is not limited to final inspections or handover activities. It is a structured, management-driven process that starts early in the project lifecycle and continues through planning, execution, verification and takeover.

Completion Management in Omega 365

Omega 365 is a fully integrated project management platform designed to support and connect critical project processes across the entire project lifecycle. Completion Management is one of the core modules within this ecosystem and plays a central role in verifying that project scope, systems and assets are delivered according to defined requirements.

The Completion module is built on Omega 365 Core Technology Product (CTP) principles and Scope Items, enabling structured follow-up of verification activities, checklists and readiness across a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, building and construction, and transport. This structure supports recognized Norwegian and international completion standards while remaining flexible for project-specific needs.

Integration with Other Omega 365 Modules

Completion Management does not operate in isolation. Its effectiveness depends on tight integration with other Omega 365 modules that provide the required data, structure and control mechanisms.

The diagram below illustrates how Completion Management is positioned within the Omega 365 module landscape and how it connects to surrounding modules:

  • Document Management provides controlled access to procedures, drawings and supporting documentation used during verification.

  • BIM supports visual verification and object-based follow-up where applicable.

  • Checklists enable structured execution and documentation of verification activities.

  • Workflows support approval processes, signatures and controlled progress through completion stages.

  • Planning and Scheduling modules (Scope Scheduling, Link Plans and Schedules) provide progress context and dependencies.

  • Risk, Quality, Change and HSE modules contribute governance, compliance and traceability.

  • Operations & Assets enable a smooth transition from project completion to operations and lifecycle management.

Together, these modules form an integrated environment where Completion Management acts as the focal point for verification, readiness and handover, while relying on upstream and parallel processes to provide accurate and consistent data.

Modular Use and Best Results

Omega 365 is designed with a modular architecture, making it possible to integrate with external systems and to implement only the modules required for a specific project. However, Completion Management performs at its best when used as part of a broader, integrated project setup.

Using Completion in combination with planning, document control, workflows and asset information ensures that verification activities are not treated as standalone tasks, but as an integrated part of project execution and control.
